Laughing Cat Coffee has been a Reno staple since 1990, roasting coffee with a rich history and deep roots in the community. Under the new ownership of Steven Horn, it was time for a brand refresh that reflected the playful spirit of this beloved local roaster.
We introduced Catuai as the new brand mascot—a mischievous cyclops cat with a personality that’s hard to ignore. The wordmark combines a condensed typeface with a bold, blocky font that’s almost bursting out of its frame, capturing the brand’s lively and energetic vibe. The repeating pattern of Catuai’s shape adds an extra layer of fun, especially when animated, bringing the brand to life in a way that’s as dynamic as their coffee.
